- What types of Cardboard can be Baled?
The types of cardboard that can be baled for recycling include:
Old Corrugated Cardboard (OCC): This is the most common type of cardboard used for packaging and shipping. It consists of three layers: an inside liner, an outside liner, and a wavy middle layer known as corrugation. Corrugated cardboard is easily recognizable by its fluted texture. All types of Corrugated Cardboard can be baled including: Single Face Board, Single Wall Board, Double Wall Board, & Triple Wall Board.
Paperboard: This is a thicker, heavier paper that is often used for cereal boxes, shoeboxes, and other types of packaging. It is typically not corrugated like cardboard and has a smooth surface.
It's important to note that not all cardboard can be baled for recycling. This includes cardboard that is wet, contaminated with food or other substances, or coated with wax or plastic.
